SENSIF will develop a point-of-care device, analogous to the glucose strip, with the advantage of

  1. multi-biomarkers detection in a single measure assisted by artificial intelligence-based analysis for fast, on-site, and accurate patient-specific diagnosis, pathogen species and resistance profiles identification and

  2. to be a paper-based device, which is both cheap and environmentally friendly.

The development of a new device for supporting correct diagnosis and efficient treatment of Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) close to the patients based on

  1. the use of synovial fluid as a biological sample,

  2. a combination of multiple biomarkers with artificial intelligence (AI), and

  3. exploitation of paper-based technologies for their several outstanding features including high sensitivity and easy mass-production.

AIMS

Aim 1

Selection of the biomarkers to detect in the synovial fluid

Aim 2
